Many of the standards touted by professional genealogists can seem intimidating. Hobbyists and new professionals often see no reason for research logs, source citations or reaslnably exhaustive research. However, these standards are best practices designed to reduce duplication, provide a foundation for others to follow and establish a level of trust in the research. Thsi presentation will explain why everyone should follow genealogy standards and demonstrates simple ways to start applying them today.
